Some Liverpool fans have been hailing the form of Andy Robertson, following the Reds’ 1-0 victory over Ajax.

Jurgen Klopp’s men made the trip to the Johan Cruyff Arena on Wednesday evening, looking to get their Champions League campaign off to the perfect start.

In the absence of Virgil van Dijk, there was huge pressure on the defence to perform, but they stood tall in general, with Fabinho particularly impressive and Joe Gomez looking somewhere close to his best again.

In the end, Nicolas Tagliafico’s own goal proved to be the difference between Liverpool and Ajax, earning the Reds a priceless three points in the process.

Another player who stood out for the visitors was Robertson, who was a bundle of energy down the left flank all evening.

The Scot has made a very impressive start to the season, but his performances have largely been underrated because attention has focused on the likes of Van Dijk’s injury and the form of more stellar names.

There was plenty of appreciation for Robertson on Twitter throughout the evening, however, with a growing swell of love for him emerging, following arguably a slight dip in form previously.

Here’s the best of the reaction to the 26-year-old’s brilliance.
