A number of Liverpool supporters are not impressed by Gary Lineker and his pundits’ criticism of Mohamed Salah on Match of the Day.

The Reds made it four wins in a row on Saturday evening, digging deep to beat West Ham 2-1 at Anfield.

It was far from a vintage Liverpool performance, but once again, they outlined why they are the reigning Premier League champions, getting over the finish line in ugly fashion.

Pablo Fornals opened the scoring for the Hammers, but Salah’s penalty levelled things up before half-time and Diogo Jota clinched victory late in the day.

It was Salah who again made the headlines, however, winning the spot-kick that he converted, having been clearly fouled by Arthur Masuaku.

Despite this, Lineker and his colleagues, including ex-Liverpool man Danny Murphy, accused the Egyptian of making the most of it.

It is far from the first time that Salah has received such criticism, when in fact he is often manhandled and doesn’t go to ground.

These Liverpool fans took to Twitter to challenge Lineker on the matter, claiming there is an English bias in the media, where the likes of Harry Kane, Raheem Sterling and Jamie Vardy are never labelled as divers.

Is Salah unfairly treated by the media?
