Peter Crouch believes Liverpool will finish above Man United this season

Peter Crouch believes Liverpool will finish above Manchester United in the Premier League this season.

The Reds have been in a wretched run of form of late, not winning in the league since thrashing Crystal Palace 7-0 on December 19th.

On the flip side, United had been on a great run until their shock 2-1 defeat at home to bottom-of-the-table Sheffield United on Wednesday evening.

It means Liverpool are six points adrift of their bitter rivals with a game in hand, which comes at Tottenham on Thursday.

Speaking with ex-United man Rio Ferdinand on BT Sport [via HITC], Crouch claimed his former club will finish higher than their adversaries, even before they lost to the Blades:

Well, I said before the game that I still think Liverpool will finish above United.

Despite their recent struggles, I still believe Liverpool are most likely to finish second in the league this season.

There is no denying that Manchester City are now overriding favourites, but Jurgen Klopp’s champions shouldn’t be afraid of anyone else, with it be United, Leicester City or anyone near the top.

United’s midweek loss proved that they are flawed, and if Liverpool can just get their confidence and rhythm back, they are capable of going on a winning run.

Victory at Spurs and West Ham this week would be huge, especially with United visiting Arsenal on Saturday evening.
