Having been decimated by injuries this season, there was a level of panic among some supporters when the 21-year-olds injury history revealed he has missed 55 games across the last two campaigns (Transfermarkt).
However, in an attempt to allay fears, Anna Woodberry put together a thread on Twitter outlining Konate’s injuries and reveals some complex misunderstanding.
During the debunking thread, the extent of each injury is revealed as well as an explanation of the common, or otherwise, nature of the problems.

Given the tribulations suffered in the defensive department this season, it’s perhaps understandable that the Liverpool faithful would be apprehensive in the face of Konate’s chequered injury past.
But, Reds can rest assured every precaution will be taken and Jurgen Klopp is highly unlikely to sign a player known to be an absence waiting to happen, especially given what’s transpired this term.
At peak fitness, Konate is a supremely talented footballer who will, if signed, add plenty to Klopp’s side.
