Mohamed Salah has been named in Football365‘s top 10 Premier League players of the season so far.

The 28-year-old has again been a standout performer for Liverpool in 2020/21, looking hungry from the opening game onwards, when he scored a hat-trick at home to Leeds United.

Salah has seven goals in as many league appearances to date and recently became the third-fastest Liverpool player in history to reach 100 goals for the club.

The Egyptian ranks seventh in F365’s new list, with Tottenham’s Son Heung-min just ahead of him in sixth and his Spurs teammate Harry Kane topping the pile.

Salah is the only Liverpool player to make the list, which perhaps highlights how their performance levels haven’t yet been up to the scratch, despite the Reds sitting top of the league.

I actually think Salah is one of the most underrated players in Premier League history, never earning enough praise for his freakish goalscoring ability.

The forward is a constant menace with his pace and movement, and his consistency over four seasons at Anfield has been astonishing.

To be the third-quickest in Liverpool’s history to reach 100 goals, considering some of the illustrious names to have played before him, speaks volumes about what he has achieved – and he isn’t even a central striker.

There is no denying that Salah has many admirers, but in terms of numbers, he deserves to be spoken of as one of the best in England over the last 20 years. To have 81 Premier League goals in just 127 matches is quite an achievement.
