Liverpool have held talks with the representatives of Lille forward Victor Osimhen, according to a report from French outlet Le10 Sport.

Osimhen has been linked with moves to Chelsea, Leicester City and Manchester United in the last few days but Le10 believe that it is the Reds who are the favourites to sign the 21-year-old.

Before the season was halted, the Nigerian star was in great form for Lille, having scored 18 goals, whilst also assisting a further six for his teammates.

Lille are reportedly asking for £60m for the striker, who is seemingly in the radar of a few clubs around Europe.

We don’t yet know how the ongoing global situation will impact the transfer spending of the Reds this summer, but if they are able to do so, it would make sense for them to bring in another attacking player.

Xherdan Shaqiri looks set to leave, whilst Rhian Brewster is being linked with another loan move.

Osimhen‘s goalscoring record has been very impressive this season and he looks like he’d be a good addition for the Reds.

However, if the Africa Cup of Nations takes place in the middle of the season next year, then the Reds could, if they sign the Nigerian, could lose him, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane for a month, which is something they must consider before they decide on their summer targets.
