Sheffield United are ready to bid £17m for Liverpool striker Rhian Brester, as per a report from The Mirror.

Chris Wilder’s side have seemingly been the frontrunners for the signature of the 20-year-old for some time, and the Yorkshire club could be set to test the Reds with an offer.

Earlier this summer, Jurgen Klopp had suggested that he may keep the England Under 21 international as part of his squad for the 2020/12 campaign.

However, after not featuring in any of the four matchday squads to this point, it seems that the talented youngster’s future may indeed lie elsewhere.

One big aspect of any deal seeing Brewster leave on a permanent basis has been the inclusion of a buy-back clause, something Sheffield United are reportedly willing to accept.

Brewster has long been touted as a future star at Anfield after coming through the academy ranks scoring goals at each level.

Although with the club superseding previous standards, there seems to be no place in the Premier League champions squad for the talented youngster.

For fans who have had high hopes for Brewster, many of whom may be surprised to see him leave, they should be pleased by the prospect of the deal including a buy-back clause, so if Liverpool wish to bring the youngster back in the future, they’ll be able to do just that.
