On this day back in 1995, Everton Football Club won their last piece of major silverware as they defeated Manchester United 1-0 in the FA Cup final at Wembley.

Paul Rideout scored the only goal of the game, heading home from close range after Graham Stuart’s shot rebounded off the crossbar, as Everton won the world’s most famous cup competition.

25 years have passed since that day and the Toffees are still to win another major honour and on the anniversary of the match, a Liverpool fan has been to Goodison Park to remind the Blues of their quarter century of football without a trophy.

As shown in the image below, a creative Reds’ supporter took balloons to Goodison Park and took a picture of them outside the famous stadium.

With the Blues out of both cup competitions this season, with one of those exits coming at the hands of a very inexperienced Liverpool team, the Everton faithful will have to wait until February 2021, at the earliest, to end their trophyless streak.
