Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea are all interested in signing Ibrahima Konate this summer, according to Bild.

The RB Leipzig centre-back has been linked with a move to Anfield in the past and is a highly-rated young player for the Bundesliga side.

Konate has a €45million release clause in his contract that can be triggered at the end of the season, which seems to have alerted the three Premier League giants.

Fellow Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano has already agreed to join Bayern Munich this summer, so Liverpool may now have turned their attention to his teammate.

Konate looks a very exciting prospect, with the 21-year-old already an established centre-back at a top club.

The 6ft4in Frenchman is a towering, dominant presence, winning an average of 2.3 aerial duels per game for Leipzig in the league this season.

A new central defender is badly needed ahead of next season, with too many of their current options not capable of staying fit for long periods, and Ozan Kabak not yet impressing enough to become a definite permanent signing, even though it is still early days with the 20-year-old.

Konate started on the substitutes’ bench in his side’s 2-0 defeat to Liverpool in the Champions League last week, but the German side looked like they missed him, with Upamecano particularly poor.

The Reds may get a better chance to see him close up in the second leg, as Jurgen Klopp continues to weigh-up his summer defensive options.
