Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Haaland is reportedly ‘open’ to a sensational move to Liverpool

The 21-year-old striker is perhaps the most sought after asset in world football currently and almost every elite club in Europe has been linked with the move.

The Reds are no exception and could be among the leading contenders next summer when a mooted €90million (£77million) release clause comes into play.

According to a report from Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, as cited by ThinkLFCTV on Twitter, the Anfield club are a possible destination for the Norwegian.

The report claims that the 15-times capped ace wants a contract worth €30million (£25.5million) per season whilst agent Mino Raiola and father Alf-Inge Haaland will both demand €20million (£17million) from the deal.

This season the powerful frontman has scored 11 goals and provided four assists in just eight appearances across all competitions.

That phenomenal return has taken Haaland to 87 direct goal contributions in 67 Dortmund outings.

Signing Haaland would certainly be a strong statement of intent that the club is staying at the top table for many years to come from Liverpool.

Whilst the mooted finances are some way removed from the recent business under FSG, the opportunity to sign a generational talent such as Haaland for under £100million doesn’t present itself too often.

Soon manager Jurgen Klopp will need to refresh the frontline, with a focal point to replace Roberto Firmino looking particularly important.

Valued at £117million (Transfermarkt), nobody would be a more suitable replacement than the Norwegian and Liverpool should pull out all the stops to land the marquee transfer.
