Liverpool fans love Oliver Holt’s comments about Salah and Kane
A number of Liverpool supporters have been praising journalist Oliver Holt after he defended Mohamed Salah.
The Reds superstar has been a hot topic of conversation in recent days, having won a penalty in the 2-1 win over West Ham. Salah went to ground after being kicked by Arthur Masuaku before firing home the spot-kick which drew Liverpool level on the night.
Despite the obvious contact made by Masuaku, there has been a furious response from some pundits who claimed Salah had dived, as they believe he has done many times during his career.
On the flip side, the treatment of Harry Kane, as a topical example, seems rather different after he went down easily in Tottenham’s 2-1 victory at home to Brighton.
While Salah is criticised for supposedly cheating to win penalties, when Kane does the same he is apparently being ‘clever‘, as tends to be the assumption with most English players.
Speaking on talkSPORT on Tuesday, however, Daily Mail journalist Holt stuck up for the Liverpool man:
✅ “Salah was a clear penalty.”
👀 “I’ve got more of a problem with Kane’s blatant dive!”
👎 “As for the Lallana incident, I think we’re going over the top.”@OllieHolt22 on the differences between Kane & Salah’s penalties pic.twitter.com/8Vrr3wlhrz

These Reds fans – and one Arsenal supporter for that matter – have been showing their appreciation for Holt’s comments on Salah and Kane.
About time, bit of sense https://t.co/pduatnLGkm

Spot on. Salah reacts to being kicked. Kane deliberately tries to make the opponent land on his neck/head to win a free kick or penalty

Kane also goes down with minimal contact a lot. It never gets called out by the media.
